Kanako Hirota entered the Bachelor's Programme Conducting of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in 2024.
She entered the Undergraduate Program Conducting of the Tokyo College of Music as a scholarship student, and earned a bachelor's degree in 2022.
She won the 3rd Prize of the 2nd edition of the Italian Conducting Competition "Alceo Galliera" 2023 in Bordighera, Italy.
She won BMI Mention at the 4th edition of the BMI International Conducting Competition 2022 in Bucharest, Romania.
She was selected as one of the 6 semi-finalists out of 634 applicants at the 2nd edition of the Lake Como International Conducting Competition 2022 in Bellano, Italy.
She was selected as one of the 10 candidates over 120 applicants at the Mills Williams Junior Fellowship in Conducting auditions of the Royal Northern College of Music 2024 in Manchester, the UK.
She was a semi-finalist at the 2nd edition of the Felix Mendelssohn International Conducting Competition 2024 in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.
She has taken part in Turandot performance as assistant conductor at the 26th Miyazaki international music festival 2021.
She played the chelesta in the orchestra at the 21st music festival Argerich's meeting point in Beppu 2019.
She participated in masterclasses by Jorma Panula, Mark Heron, Boris Belkin, Tsugio Tokunaga.
She is studying conducting under Marc Piollet, and studied conducting under Junichi Hirokami, Toshifumi Tashiro, Nobutaka Masui, Akihito Mihara, Toshihiro Yonezu.
Born in Toyama, Japan in 1999. She began to study piano at the age of seven.
